In 2017, I found myself searching for a new challenge, something that could push me to grow and become a better version of myself. Like many Indians, the question popped into my head: “Can studying abroad change my life?” . The more I thought about it, the more it felt like the right step forward. So, I grabbed a pen and paper and started listing countries that could help me make this dream a reality. Of course, most people around me recommended the US or Canada, while some suggested the UK as the best option. But honestly, I wasn’t sure I wanted to follow the crowd. I decided I wanted something different—a destination in Europe. After countless hours of research, I narrowed it down to two countries: France and Germany.

With the country shortlist in hand, I thought the hard part was over. But then came the next question: “Which country would offer the best job opportunities after my master’s?”

I was in the same boat as you then, you probably have similar fears —

  • Will I be able to pay for my education once I'm done with it?

  • Is the job market robust in that country?

  • Is job finding easy in France?

To answer these questions, I think it depends on where you choose to get your master's from and whether you have the right skill set to apply for jobs. But, all in all, for me, France has been a net positive for all of these questions, and if it can be for me, it can be for you as well. I am more than happy to answer these questions for you if you connect with me!

Honestly, the job market has been unpredictable since 2019, so I decided to leave that part to chance. You see, sometimes you just have to embrace uncertainty and say, “We’ll see what happens.”

Overthinking every little thing can make studying abroad feel like a huge financial burden. But to me, studying abroad is a leap of faith.

Once you decide to take it, you have to trust yourself and go for it. I think studying abroad is certainly a leap of faith, once you decide to take it, you do it.

Vive La France - 2018

After 8–9 months of intense research (and plenty of stress), I made my choice: France. It wasn’t an easy decision. I knew there were risks, like learning French and adapting to a different work culture after my studies. But France felt right to me—it’s an underrated gem for higher education.

France is an underrated option for students to study in.

Why France?

The culture of innovation and growth here is incredible. The French government provides systems to support students and employees, protecting them from toxic workplaces and financial burdens.

If you are an Indian student coming to France, make sure you research about CAF (Caisses d'Allocations Familiales), it helps you financially during your time as a student. Also, don’t forget to register with l’Assurance Maladie for access to the excellent French healthcare system.

My master’s program at IESEG School of Management in Lille was an eye-opening journey. With classmates from nearly 20 different countries, the experience expanded my perspective and shaped my learning in profound ways.

During my master’s, my passion for marketing took off. From SEO and outbound marketing to omnichannel strategies, the field offers so many exciting paths. There’s no wrong way to build a career in marketing—it’s all about finding what resonates with you.

It was during this time that I decided to create my website. I wanted to stand out, and my website became a space for people to get to know me better, beyond just a resume.

My advice to students looking for a job, be creative in your search for a job.

2019 - My First Job Experience!

2019 will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only did I achieve my dream of studying abroad and completing my master’s program, but I also landed my first internship (which later turned into a full-time role!) at Superprof, France.

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of receiving a quick response from a potential employer. It’s that moment when all the fear and uncertainty disappear, replaced by the rush of excitement that comes with starting something new. The feeling is simply indescribable.

Superprof entered my life right after I completed my master’s, and the timing couldn’t have been better. My family had flown to France to celebrate my graduation, and I got to share the incredible news of my first internship in Paris. It was a dream come true—living and working in Paris was everything I had hoped for, and at that moment, I felt like the universe was finally on my side.

To top it all off, by December 2019, my internship was converted into a full-time CDI contract. It was a huge milestone, and I felt like I had accomplished the first big chapter of my life.

2025 - Still A Dream!

After working for 5 years, and 6 months with Superprof, I finally decided that it was time for me to do something new, and challenge myself differently. I achieved what a lot of young students dream about after completing their master's program.

So, here are the 5 valuable life lessons I learned from my time at Superprof and working in France →

Be Ready To Take Risks -

Life is unpredictable, and sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. Overthinking risks can hold you back from enjoying the present moment.

Don't spend time calculating all the risks while making a decision. Sometimes things will happen even when you prepare for them. If you spend a lot of time worrying, you will spend less time enjoying the privilege of being in the present.

France Is A Very Good Choice For Higher Education & Work Life -

If you’re considering studying or working in France, go for it! With proper research and preparation, France offers an amazing work-life balance and opportunities for growth.

If you are thinking about working in France, let me assure you that it is an excellent country to work and study in. Don't think twice about it. Just do your research well! Creativity Gets Opportunities -

To stand out, you have to think and act differently. Embrace your uniqueness, and don’t be afraid to take a creative approach—it’ll get you noticed.

If you want to be seen, see things differently and do it your way.

Learn languages -

Knowing multiple languages is a game-changer in Europe. I wish I’d learned this earlier, but it’s never too late to pick up a new language—it’s the key to thriving here.

I wish someone had given me this advice a few years ago, learning a language is like a key to success in Europe. The more languages you know, the easier you get in the country.

Adapt To Survive -

Adapting to a new culture is challenging, but it’s also deeply rewarding.

One of the hardest things in France is adapting to a culture different from your own. If you learn the language, it makes things easier for you to adapt to the French society. The administrative aspect of France is not easy, they can be slow and things can take a long time, and frustration comes by very easily. If you keep this in mind, you'll realize that it's not difficult to live a good life in France.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is how much you grow when you step out of your comfort zone. Moving to a new country, learning a new language, and adapting to a new culture can be hard, but it’s worth it.

As the saying goes, “To grow through it, you need to go through it.”

If you’re an Indian student wondering whether to study in France, here’s my advice: Learn French and come! This country is one of the best places in the world to study and build a life.

If you have any doubts or need guidance about living in France, feel free to connect with me through my website. I’m always happy to help!
